Originally engineered as a 140-mile topology, rapid regional demand for AI infrastructure driven by hyperscale requirements prompted a massive expansion, including an additional 35+ route miles in the West Valley. This current 15-ring layout delivers comprehensive physical layer depth interconnecting nine distinct cities across the metropolitan area.

Phoenix’s growing data center ecosystem, featuring power inventory scaling from 804 MW to over 1,800 MW coupled with university research hubs and intense hyperscale activity creates an immediate, critical regional requirement for the low-latency, high-density physical fiber lines that LSC deploys.

LSC’s Phoenix network provides critical physical path access to over 70 planned and existing data centers across the Valley. The high-fiber-count route explicitly serves high-density data hubs in the Goodyear area and provides direct, carrier-neutral dark fiber connectivity into Edged’s newest ultra-efficient data center in Mesa, Arizona, located less than 25 miles from downtown Phoenix.

LSC ensures complete network diversity and resilience by constructing 100% of its 335+ mile Phoenix infrastructure entirely underground. This subterranean conduit design utilizes a high-fiber-count architecture to eliminate the environmental vulnerabilities, severe weather exposures, and physical disruption risks common with aerial paths, safeguarding real-time Machine Learning (ML) data flows for high-availability enterprise networks.

Multiple hyperscalers anchor the Light Source Communications Phoenix dark fiber infrastructure.
