Debra Freitas, Co-Founder and CEO of Light Source Communications (LSC), represented the company this month at the annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, where she accepted two prestigious honors. The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s premier business awards for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run.
During the awards ceremony, held Nov. 10 in New York City, Debra was named a Bronze Stevie Winner for Best Female CEO of the Year.
“This is a wonderful honor and I’m thrilled to represent not only LSC but all of our many incredible women in telecom who continue to break barriers every day. Telecommunications has long been a boys’ club, but I’ve truly enjoyed the challenge of leading a small but tenacious team as we build the dark fiber networks of the future,” Debra said.
Debra also accepted a Silver Stevie as LSC was named Company of the Year – Business Services Award for companies with 10 or Less Employees.
“Our work is often behind the scenes, so being recognized like this means the world to us,” Debra said.
